I don't know if Winston is too lazy to write out his name or if he is trying to tell us something.
The elementary school is a ten minute walk from our school. Winston will be either walking with us or taking the walking bus. On his first day it was close to 80 degrees F by 8 am.
The elementary school recommends that kindergartners bring a tote bag instead of a backpack. I decided to make the tote bag. Winston chose a fabric with spotted owls. For his lunch box he chose airplanes.
Since it was a hot day Winston was planning on wearing his sandals but as soon as he realized that we were walking he faked having rocks in his shoes so that he could wear his camper shoes. He really likes his camper shoes and has even tried to wear them to soccer and tennis class.
Winston got a small sunflower plant for his coach. He decided to plant it in the vegetable garden and now the plant has taken over. It's extermely tall and can't support itself without stakes.
The sunflower now has three stakes to keep in from falling down.

Ever since Winston attended his summer camp he has been working on mastering the monkey bars.
This summer Winston is also taking soccer and while he doesn't enjoy it as much as golf or tennis he is still one of the best players. He has really good control of the ball and even has some moves to protect the ball.
Winston is taking tennis lessons this summer and he really is enjoying them.
To prepare for kindergarten Winston attended one week of summer camp.
The activity for one of the days was to paint a post in the school parking lot. During the week, he made a necklace, sewed a felt heart, made something with bird feathers and gardened. His one complaint was that he didn't like the lunches which were cooked by his teacher.
