Winston's Photo Blog

In the last two weeks Winston has been constantly asking:

1. Where did papa go? When is he coming back? Right after this he moves on to "Where did tio go? When is he coming back?

He immediately asks the same questions again no matter how many times I answer them. It's gotten to the point where I'm sick of repeating myself.

His other question is
2. What is this? Pointing or showing you the item. If you guess correctly he says 'okay' and walks away. If you guess incorrectly he will keep asking you the question.

Another obessions is checking on the van. Every day he asks "Where is tia Monica's car?" At night I have to tell him that the car is still there but that he can't see it because it's dark. He will also ask to go on a 'hike' to see if the car is still there.

His new word is 'yeah'

In addition to wanting to go on daily hikes (aka long walks in his tricycle) Winston will ask to play soccer. He also insists on only wearing 'baseball shorts.' On Monday we were meeting friends for brunch and it was chilly outside. I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to convince Winston to put on pants. He even went on an early morning walk without a sweatshirt to prove that he wasn't cold. In the end he wore his pants but carried his shorts to the restaurant along with his soccer ball and two cars.

Winston now will ask to go hiking when he wants to go on long walks. His definition of hiking is either running or walking a few steps and then stopping to explore, walking a few steps then stopping to explore....

Now that we are having great weather again we took Winston's tricycle out of the garage. In the last three days it's been getting a lot of use. He likes to ride around neighborhood in the early evening when there is a light breeze.

Today the weather was great so we decided to take Winston and Penelope on a short walk on the trail that parallels Crystal Springs Lake. Penelope rode in her stroller while Winston switched between attempting to peddle and being pushed on his tricycle.

This past Friday we decided to plant some herbs and tomatoes. Winston chose the herbs and helped remove the weeds before planting them. It took much longer than expected because Winston constantly needed to clean his hands and would also get distracted by the dog.

He started off wearing his rain boots but ended up finishing the job barefoot.

The next morning after having breakfast he was ready to water the plants. At first he was watering the plants then moved to giving the dog a cold shower and finished by turning the hose on himself. It was quite messy but he had so much fun.

Last weekend we went to the art supply store and bought new brushes, watercolors, and acrylic paint for Winston. He has been doing a lot of painting and particularly enjoys watercoloring. After a few tries I've discover that watercolor is much easier and enjoyable for Winston when I went the waterpaper first. He will spend 30 to 45 minutes painting and mixing colors. He gets very excited when he makes green or orange with the colors.

Immediately after finishing his painting he wants it added to his bulletin board.
