Last Friday Winston and I cut down branches from the trees in our backyard and made a teepee. Winston hung out in his teepee for quite some time. He came out to ask for hot udonand then again when he wanted 'jugo naranjado' aka. orange juice.

One of the fist things that we did after moving to our new house was to plant our vegetable garden. The deer ate the peppers, dill, and tomatoes but they left the oregano and basil untouched.
Last Friday Winston and I made pesto with the basil that was growing in our garden. Penelope contributed some of her almonds, yes almonds, although it was tough to get her to share them with us. Winston wanted to add almonds to the pesto instead of walnuts. I think I prefer pesto with almonds over pine nuts or walnuts.
We didn't measure anything. The pesto was a mixture of salt, garlic, olive oil, basil and almonds. We just kept adding things until it tasted right to me. We used the pesto on our home made pizzas or on bagels.

Winston used to ask to listen to Juanes everytime we got in the car. Then he started asking for Coldplay, Yellow, or Viva La Vida but now he stuck on Green Day's latest single , 21 Guns
Penelope still likes 'camisa negra'. from Juanes.

The swing is finally up. Winston likes to seat on it before going to bed and eat a freshly picked apple from the tree. He is very sad that the apple tree has stopped producing apples. Lucky for him the peach tree is full of peaches and the pomegranate tree has a handful of pomegranates.

This is a really, really old picture of Winston making a bean bag. I think Penelope was just weeks old when we made this.

The deer ate many of the plants in our front yard. Winston's suggestion was to get a gun and kill the deer. He was very excited and kept repeating this. It reminded me of the time we were at the airport watching an airplane depart and he said loudly that the plane had a bomb and was going to explode.
