We celebrated Winston's 6th birthday, again, this past weekend. This time it was with his classmates and some of our close friends.
The FoodBuffet table with pasta frittata, roasted peppers with boccaccini and grape tomatoes, flatbreads, roasted asparagus with capers and lemon, grilled baby vegetables, strawberry salad, grilled baby zucchini, and berries. We also made hot dogs for the kids and the adults.
The PiƱata
I bought a disco ball and redecorated it.
The Cake
Winston wanted a Star Wars cake.
After the cake the kids played in the backyard

Winston likes to listen and reenact the scene where the Nutcracker Battles the Army of the Mouse King. The book has a great illustration of the battle. I downloaded the music for him and it has been the best .69 cents that I have spent.

Winston made the napkin rings using this edge punch.
Penelope had the idea to use the leaves from the trees in the backyard to make the place cards. We used lemon, lime, orange, kumquat, guava, persimmon, and grapefruit leaves. She had fun choosing the perfect leaves for the table.

Winston has been very busy preparing for Christmas. He still has lot of gifts to make most of which will get done in LA days before Christmas.
Wreath
The wreath has leaves, pine cones and acorns collected during our walks around the neighborhood and hikes.
Christmas Tree
The decorations on the tree have all been made by Winston.
This is a picture of Winston hanging his salt dough ornaments. Tip: Make them thin as they get heavy once they are cooked also make the holes bigger than you'd think.
Peppermint Bark
Winston made peppermint bark for our neighbors and his nanny.
Walnuts
Preparing to make his spicy walnuts. He has so much fun breaking them using the meat mallet.
