Winston's First Hike

Palo Alto Baylands is just a 15 minute drive from our house. It includes a duck pond, creeks, sloughs, and large areas of freshwater and saltwater marshland rich in wildlife. In addition to this there is a small boat launching ramp that looks like something you would see in a movie.

Winston stood on the dock looking at all the birds on the mash.

Noted wildlife photographer B. Moose Peterson has written that the Baylands have "the West Coast's finest bird photography."We saw a few photographers out taking pictures of the birds.

The hike was pretty easy and flat so I took Winston's tricyle in case he didn't want to walk. We didn't use it much. Winston wanted to touch the plants and was constantly pointing at the planes and birds that were flying above us.

Reading List

These past few weeks we have been reading Cava y Excava/ (Dig Dig Digging) & ¡emergencia! /Emergency! over and over for Winston. We checked out these books from the library about a month ago and have been renewing them ever since. Winston really likes the vivid yet simple collage-tye illustrations. His favorite of the two used to be the one about emergency vehicles but now he like the other.

I have yet to find an online store that sells the Spanish version of these books.
