Picture of the Week

Much to his nanny's chagrin Winston does not like to take off his Elmo pajamas because Elmo is playing baseball. It takes her quite some time to convince him to change into proper clothes. On Tuesday she couldn't get him to change and he ended up hosting his playdate in his pajamas.

Name Plaque

Two weekends ago Aileen, who finally moved back to CA, came by to meet Penelope and brought a gift for Winston. Included in the gift was a 'decorate your own' name plaque.

He insisted on placing all the sport balls on the plaque.

Soccer Shirt

On Saturday we told Winston that there wasn't any baseball or football on TV so he went upstairs and brought down the soccer shirt that his uncle Jose bought him. He decided to wear it but only for a couple hours. He later changed to his baseball shirt.

Gillette Champions TV Ad

Winston stops whatever he is doing whenever he hears or sees this commercial. He can recognize each player and knows which sport they play.

Sweet Home Alabama

Today at Linen & Things Winston found the music kiosik and tried all the albums that they had and decided that he liked the
Open Road CD
the best. In particular, he liked and kept playing "Sweet Home Alabama" over and over.

Puzzles

Before going to bed last night Winston wanted to work on his jigsaw puzzle book that his aunt Maribel got him some time ago but I convinced him to help me test my new camera lens first.

About a month ago Liza bought him a set of construction jigsaw puzzles and ever since he's been really into puzzles. He has put together and taken apart the four puzzles that come with Liza's gift hundreds of times. Each time he asks that one of us sits with him and helps him out. After connecting every two pieces he will raise his fists and yell 'yeh.' Due to celebration it takes quite some time to finish just one puzzle.

No More Showers

Winston used to like to take showers but lately he prefers to take baths. He likes to add his Thomas bubble bath and color tablets to the water and then fill up the tub to the very top. For over an hour he will sit there and play with his trains and planes.

San Mateo Fire Station

Last Thursday the nanny and I took Winston to a tour of the San Mateo Fire station in downtown San Mateo. The tour was about 25 minutes and was led by a very nice fireman. Winston was afraid to go inside the fire engine but really enjoyed going down the pole with the help of the fireman, of course. Peneloope slept through the entire tour.

Cheese

Cheese was one of the first solid foods that Winston ate. He loves cheese. He likes to go to Whole Foods and sample the various cheeses. Last night for dinner Winston took the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and ate spoons of it leaving his pasta untouched.

Hat

Winston wears Penelope's knot hat. Either that or he remembers wearing it when he was a baby.

Another Baseball Book

Winston's nanny found him another great baseball book. He carries the book around the house and when he takes a bath he puts it right where he can see it. baseballbook.gif

At night, he used to ask for his Thomas book but now it's all baseball again.
