Herb Garden
The deer managed to get passed our smelly deer repellent and eat some of the herbs, tomatoes and pepper plants in our garden. This reminded Winston of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" which we've been reading lately. Tonight he told me that the deer were not going to have bread, milk and blackberries for supper because they were naughty.
We are also reading "Henny Penny." Tonight for the first time he realized that the chicken and her friends were eaten by the fox. He asked me why the Tomten didn't shares his porridge with the fox. I was caught off guard and surprised that he connected this book with "The Tomten and the Fox"; we read this book this past Winter.
He also enjoys reading parts of "The Little Island" by Golden MacDonald. The book covers the four seasons as they affect the little island and the plants and animals that visit the island unfortunately the pictures are not in color.
